What GeekParadize is

GeekParadize is a French online magazine about video games, consumer tech and geek culture, published since 2010 at geekparadize.fr. The public website (articles, game tests, hardware tests, deals, videos, WebTV and community tools) is free to browse.

What the GeekParadize application does with Google

GeekParadize also provides an internal editorial admin used only by the GeekParadize staff. That application can connect to Google Search Console with OAuth 2.0 so the team can:

  • read search performance for the GeekParadize website (queries, pages, clicks, impressions, average position);
  • check indexing coverage and sitemap status;
  • submit GeekParadize sitemaps.

Public readers of GeekParadize never sign in with Google. The OAuth connection is limited to authorised staff Google accounts that already have access to the Search Console property https://www.geekparadize.fr/. GeekParadize does not request Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or Ads access.

Google user data used by this application

Data we access: the Google account email of the connected staff member, and Search Console data for the GeekParadize property (https://www.geekparadize.fr/) — search queries, page URLs, clicks, impressions, average position, coverage/indexing status, and sitemaps.

Data we store: OAuth access token, refresh token, expiry time, and the connected Google email, on GeekParadize servers, so the admin can refresh Search Console reports.

What we do not access: Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, Photos, Payments or Google Ads. We do not sell Google user data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties.

How to revoke: disconnect Google in the GeekParadize admin (Search Console), and/or revoke GeekParadize in Google Account → Third-party access. Stored tokens are deleted when the staff member disconnects.

GeekParadize’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Search Console data is used only to display SEO reports in the GeekParadize staff admin and to submit sitemaps.
